Scope: GHRC is dedicated to protecting the rights of marginalized communities. It helps victims of human rights violations by appealing to Indian Human Rights Commission (IHRC).

Background: Tribal people and dalits, particularly women and children, seldom have access to the judicial system. GHRC works mainly by documenting human rights abuses and then filing cases in the courts.

IFA's funding allowed GHRC to file over 120 cases in 2010. The following issues are being addressed:

- All forms of discrimination and violence
- Hunger and starvation
- Access to public health and education
- Torture, illegal arrest, excessive use of force etc.
- Fair public trial

Years supported:  3

IFA Funding: $ 14,400

IFA Visits:  Surekha, Prithvi & Ashim visited in December, 2010
