Lok Satta is a peoples movement. More than 10% of the population of Andhra Pradesh is sympathetic to the goals of Lok Satta.
Lok Satta is a major part of the alliance that was instrumental in getting the supreme court directive of last year requiring political candidates to declare their criminal, financial & educational backgrounds.
Lok Satta has pioneered the method of exposing corrupt candidates, preventing scores of them from being elected.
Recently, Lok Satta is spearheading a massive campaign for decentralization of judicial process by creating “Gram nyayalayas” or village courts. This is one of the many aspects of decentralization of government and hence empowerment of people being propagated by Lok Satta
