Success Story

The Weaving Center has become totally self-sufficient. The center currently employs around 9 women who, along with the the master weaver and a helper, weave fabric for revenues and continue to enhance their skills. This was brought about by IFA funding!

Many of the women who have learnt tailoring have either become self-employed or have started working in the nearby clothing factories
The main benefit of these programs in Abheypur and 25 surrounding villages is that villagers have now begun to desist from selling their land because they have found alternate sources of income.

Youths who have been trained by Vision of India have found gainful employment in nearby factories and have also been able to create self employment opportunities.

Women beneficiaries have finally found a say in the decision making process of the village due to their economic independence.

Scope

To create an awareness among the rural people and to achieve self-sufficiency through integrated rural development program.

To impart vocational training to youth and rural people to enable them to find gainful employment in the newly developing industries in the area

To promote basic and preventive health care – plan is to equip each village cluster with a clinic run by qualified doctors and managed by the rural people themselves

To popularize local arts and crafts by creating avenues to help artisans earn income from them and highlighting them as tourist attractions.

To develop sports facilities and training by inculcating discipline into the lives of the rural youth and organizing their diet and training

To enhance agricultural development by providing technological inputs on how to increase yield from land.
